(OLD) Peacebuilder Clubs
THE VISION:
Every Rotary club will become (or support) a dynamic Rotary Peacebuilder Club.
Intention:
To provide Information Resources to all interested Rotary clubs on the basic steps to apply for and become a Rotary Peacebuilder Club, that is recognized on Rotary Action Group for Peace (RAGFP) – Global Peace Map.
RAGFP Objectives for Rotary Peacebuilder Clubs:
- To provide Peace & Conflict Prevention/Resolution resources for Rotary clubs (and others) worldwide
- To Educate, Engage, and Empower Rotarians (and others) in Peace initiatives • Educate: Enhance Rotarian Peacebuilder skills (Conflict Prevention/Resolution & Positive Peace) • Empower: Support Rotarians (and others) to demonstrate their passion for Peace, with purpose • Engage: Encourage Rotarians (and others) to directly engage in local Peace initiatives – and beyond
- To support Rotary Peace Centers (including Rotary Peace Fellow Candidates – and alumni)
- To Connect with fellow Peacebuilders – local to global
Benefits to becoming a Rotary Peacebuilder Club:
- Receive Rotary Peacebuilder Club distinction, from Rotary Action Group for Peace
- Inspire Rotarians in your respective Rotary Club to engage in leadership role(s) in Peace initiatives
- Raise your Rotary Club Profile in Community – as you serve as a “hub” to bring organizations together.
Steps to Apply for a Rotary Peacebuilder Club, recognized on RAGFP Global Peace Map:
- Form a Rotary– Peace Committee in your Rotary club (with at least 2 members)
- Have 2 (or more) Rotary – Peace Committee members join RAGFP ($50 annual fee each)
- Read (and agree with) the RAGFP Peacebuilder Club Standards, Read the RAGFP Peace Primer, on RAGFP website
- Complete & Submit your Rotary Peacebuilder Club application form to RAGFP – (please see SAMPLE Peacebuilder Club Application Form on next page)
- Your Rotary club will receive a Rotary Peacebuilder Club Certificate from RAGFP and will be recognized on the Rotary Action Group for Peace (RAGFP) – Global Peace Map
Note: Rotaract Clubs can apply for and receive distinction as a Rotaract Peacebuilder Club, recognized by RAGFP, (by following the same process described above)

Implement Recommended RAGFP Peace Committee Objectives:
EDUCATE (enhance Peace skills)
- RAGFP Peace Primer RI Peace Education programs (ex. IEP Positive Peace)
- Other Peace Education Programs (ex. ‘Every Rotarian/Rotaractor is a Peacebuilder” (ERRIP) online series • EMPOWER
- Invite and support dynamic, innovative leadership opportunities for Rotarians and Rotaractors to foster Peace, through Rotary District Peace Committees
- To encourage Peacebuilder fellowship – local to global (ex. RAGFP – “Chat with the Chair”) weekly meetings
ENGAGE
- Encourage and support each Rotary and Rotaract Peacebuilder Club to engage in at least 1 Peace initiative in their local community
- Coordinate at least 1 Rotary Peace Committee – district-wide Peace initiative
- Encourage Rotary multi-district and global Peace initiatives
Support RI Peace Centers
- Invite Nominations for Rotary Peace Fellow Candidates
- Assist Rotary Peace Fellow Candidates to complete and submit Rotary Peace Fellow applications to RI Peace Center (assisted by Rotary District sub-committee Chair)
- Support Rotary Peace Fellow alumni in their respective Peace work and engage them in Rotary district Peace activities
Sponsor 3+ new Rotaract Peacebuilder Clubs
- 3 Rotary District Peacebuilder Clubs supports current Rotaract Clubs to form Rotaract Peace Committees and submit application to RAGFP – to be recognized as a Rotaract Peacebuilder Club – on RAGFP Global Peace Map 5. Encourage Rotarian Peacebuilder Fellowship
- To encourage Peacebuilder fellowship – local to global (ex. RAGFP – “Chat with the Chair”) weekly meetings
